Being the news junkie that I am, I had to travel down to the Back Bay of Boston today for the large 9-alarm fire at 298 Beacon Street. Getting to the city was a nightmare because of prior commitments and the traffic gridlock that the fire caused; then add rush hour traffic to that.
I ended up going on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, MA just across the Charles River to try to get a vantage point. I had my Nikon D600 with my 28-300 lens attached.
I was saddened to hear of the two Boston Firefighter deaths. When it comes to breaking news, you never know what to expect, I certainly did not expect the fire to kills those dedicated public servants. My heart broke when I heard about their deaths. I am very thankful to all those men and women who put their lives on the line to protect us, the public.
