The Grand Tetons At Mormon Row

Sunrise at the Grand Tetons The Grand Tetons are located just outside of Jackson, Wyoming, a short drive from Rexburg, Idaho. While attending BYU-Idaho, I was able to make  a few trips to photograph the Tetons; each time at a different vantage point. This was my first time traveling to the Jackson Hole area of Wyoming, specifically Mormon Row. I woke up VERY early in the morning, in fact, I was running on 90 minutes of sleep, if that. I woke up around 3 am to make it in time for the very popular sunrise shot at the Moulton...

Assembly Hall On Temple Square

Assembly Hall on Temple Square Brief History Before I traveled down to Photoshop World (PSW) in Las Vegas in September 2013, I was able to make a pit stop to one of my favorite places on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Assembly Hall is one of my favorite buildings on Temple Square. The architecture of the building is really unique, especially to that area. The granite to the building comes from the same quarry as the Salt Lake Temple, it’s neighboring building.  However, their appearance is different because of the way the stone was cut, therefore giving...

The Venetian Grand Hall – Las Vegas September 2013

The Venetian Grand Hall is probably one of the best places to photograph on the Vegas Strip. The outside of the Venetian looks like Venice, Italy and is also perfect for photos. As part of a trip to Photoshop World in September 2013, I woke up around 6:30 am to go photograph the Venetian with out the presence of many people. I was able to use a small tripod to grab these HDR images and get some unique versions of the Venetian Grand...

Bannack Ghost Town – Sunset HDR Photography

If there is something that I have really enjoyed out of my college career, it is going to Bannack Ghost Town with my professor, Caryn Esplin for the past few years. It is a different experience each time I go. I always find a new angle on a particular building. This time one of my focuses while in Bannack, Montana Ghost Town was to do HDR Photography. The clouds and weather were just perfect for early June. I took the following HDR pictures around...

Jacob Spori Building HDR Sunset Shot

Walking home from my early evening class today, I could not resist from taking a few pictures around campus, especially on a nice spring day like today. Add clouds, sunset and 3 bracketed images for this HDR Shot. I really love where the sun was hitting the Spori Building on the BYU-Idaho campus. The skies were also a rich blue, which adds more contrast to the sky. I took these images with no tripod, with the 3 image bracketing at -2,0,2....

A Perfect Valentines Day at Bannack, Montana

It was a perfect Valentines Day at the Bannack, Montana Ghost Town. If you know the Idaho/Montana region of the country, the weather could vary from day to day. The day started off warmer than usual with temperatures in the mid 30s. As the day progressed, the temperatures dropped into the lower 30s and upper 20s as the cold front moved into the Ghost Town. I went to help out Caryn Esplin with her COMM 300 Digital Imaging class and show students different types of lighting. It was a blast being able to use the new Paul C. Buff...

Rexburg Idaho Mormon Temple in the Winter

On a Saturday night in Rexburg, Idaho, I went around town and got a few snapshots of my favorite places. The sunset was so awesome that night. The colors were vibrant and the cold sunset was suddenly worth getting purple fingers and numbness. Hope you enjoy these images of the Rexburg Mormon temple where I have attended over the last 4 years while a student at...

Salt Lake Mormon Temple & Temple Square Summer 2012

Last summer I was able to get away from Rexburg, Idaho for the Memorial Day weekend and travel to downtown Salt Lake City and photograph the Temple Square area. Temple Square has been on of my favorite locations to photograph whenever I travel down there. There are always photo opportunities. I got there about an hour after sunrise and photographed the Salt Lake Mormon Temple. The Salt Lake Temple is probably one of the most photographed temples inside the Mormon faith, so why do I keep taking pictures of it? There is simply one answer, the lighting changes every...

Boston HDR-Night Time

Boston, Massachusetts is my hometown. I just love this city. It is filled with many different photo opportunities. Something that I have not been able to do until now in Boston is some night-time photography. On the same day I did the Chinatown Post, I took these images. I used no tripod and nearly froze to death on a cold afternoon/evening in Boston on Christmas day. The challenge I gave myself was to do more night time photography with a little bit of HDR with no tripod. These are the results from the Paramount Theatre and the Beacon Hill area of Boston....
